Almost inseparable in real life, Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift are captured here in a studio still from “A Place in the Sun,” circa 1951. Like most men of the era, Mr. Clift was rarely seen without his wristwatch.

A year ago today, SVW assembled a team of artists to do a ’50s diner-themed shoot.
