No one can deny the honesty of Arts and Crafts or the inventiveness and sexy bravado of the Deco era; however, when it comes to out-and-out "panache" it is hard to beat the brilliance of the Victorian era. Florishes, scrollwork, a love of classicism and flair — all are endearing characteristics of "the Heroic Era."
Every aspect of early horological art; from its obsession to detail and workmanship to its affair with all things Rococo — define it as a triumph for its nameless, forgotten artists. Draped in magnificent swags and florid chase-work, this solid 14k white gold masterpiece is, without question, one of the most beautifully evident Art Nouveau timepieces we've had the pleasure to offer.
A gracefully curved 31mm by 16mm case with elegant illustration along either side gives this watch a lovely wrist stance and elevates it to a work of tactile art.
Heavily stylized numerals adorn its restored two-tone silver-and-platinum tone dial. Its hinged back opens to reveal an original, manual-wind Swiss movement — marked "Perrenaud" — set with cabochon sapphire reeded crown and stem.
