The Danish Jurgensen family began their watch-making empire during the latter half of the 18th century, a full 250 years ago. In 1836, Louis Jurgensen, the grandson of the founding patriarch fell in love with Switzerland and decided to move from his native Denmark to Le Locle. America resoundingly embraced the Jurgensen commitment to quality. The House of Jules Jurgensen remained family owned until 1912; when it was sold to Heuer. The name "Jules Jurgensen" lives on, enjoying fame two and a half centuries after appearing on its first fine timepiece!

This gorgeous men's '50s-era Jules Jurgensen in solid 14k yellow gold that sought-after Minimalist/Retro/"Breakfast at Tiffany's" look everyone envies. Featuring slim lugs framing a handsome bezel, the design has that pressed-shirt appeal of the crisp, "short haircut" Design era of Madison Avenue.

A pristine pearlescent dial marked "Jules Jurgensen/established 1740/Swiss" features gold applied bar markers, as well as a most desirable sub-seconds register. Its crystal is perfect and sharp; its reeded crown is original. Open the back of this pristine case, which measures 33mm wide and 39mm from lug-to-lug, and you'll see an original Jules Jurgensen high-grade 17 jewel manual wind Swiss movement; cleaned, oiled and calibrated to keep excellent time.

We've fitted the timepiece with a "European cut" peanut crocodile strap with matching gold-tone buckle – a perfect complement for such a high-grade vintage Swiss watch. Also, we’re pleased to present the watch in factory double-boxes with Jules Jurgensen guarantee booklet. If it’s a classic vintage timepiece you seek – something with a bit more panache than today’s garish “pro sports” watches, you’ve found your elegant Mid-century treasure!
