Breathes there the man with soul so dead, who never has wished to express himself in terms of excellence? Of course not. And the excellence that flowed through the Deco Era in term of Art; in terms of integrity; in terms of personal achievement is incomparable. Chief among the designers of wrist art in the great American watch houses certainly must be The Illinois Watch Company. These were the masters of the Golden Age of watch design. Breathtaking forms! Unmatched engineering! Boundless pride! It is what made us great and keeps us so.
We are honored to offer a rare and genuine example of the work of The Illinois Watch Company. The first model of its kind we've come across since we began representing wrist art more than a quarter century ago. From a vast personal collection amassed over decades, this stunning work of art exudes all that is great about style and The Golden Age.
Measuring a perfectly balanced 27mm by 37mm end-to-end, the piece is exactly how it emerged from the estate collection save being cleaned, oiled and calibrated to keep time as intended. We have taken the liberty of fitting the piece with a correct, custom-crafted black cordovan recreation of the strap of the era. Offered in a charming period presentation case, This work of art is worthy of the wrist it will grace!
