Such watches are important, not only because they represent some of the most innovative, resilient watches in the world, but because they were carried by heroes. We've been vintage watch dealers for many years and have gathered stories about military watches and the warriors who carried them. We're always humbled and never forget.
We're elated to bring you just such an example of fine military horology: An estate-fresh WWI era Elgin wristwatch with original black dial, restored “stained-glass” hands and solid nickel case.
It is a handsome and uncommon thing – from its resilient solid nickel movement; to its masculine wrist presence, nickel case and midnight dial – the watch reminds us of great soldiers who’ve gone before us.
We've taken the liberty of cleaning, oiling and calibrating the watch so that it keeps time as intended. Also, we've fitted this 43mm by 32mm work of wrist art with an historically accurate two-piece black cordovan strap.
We’re pleased to offer this work of art in a custom-fitted twill presentation pouch.
